Wading Birds of Volusia County Hike

The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann on a 2-mile hike through Spruce Creek Park and discover the wading birds and other aquatic birds that call Volusia County home. We’ll learn how to identify them, and we’ll explore some of the adaptations that make these birds so unique. ** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program. ACTIVITY: This will be a moderate 2-mile walk. RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered. TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary. AGES: Ages eight and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing for the outdoors WHAT TO BRING: water, bug spray, sunscreen, binoculars (We have extras you can borrow if you don't have your own.)
