On behalf of the Hillsborough County Communities Active in Disasters (COAD), in partnership with the University of South Florida College of Public Health, the Sunshine ERC, Hillsborough County Office of Emergency Management, and WellBuilt Cities, we are pleased to invite you to 2025 Hillsborough County Community Conversations on Building a More Disaster Resilient Future to be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. This event will first start with a panel on a whole community approach for looking at efforts that are currently taking place in regard to building social networks, enhancing skills, identifying needs, and leveraging those connections to support populations before, during, and after a disaster. Following our panel discussion, we will have three facilitated breakout sessions where community and faith leaders, non-profit organizations, professionals, residents, and academics can come together to strategize on action steps to identify preparedness and intervention strategies that encourage innovation and collaboration to protect some of our most vulnerable populations. This event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided, along with additional instructions as the event approaches. Share this opportunity with colleagues, friends, and others who may be activists or community leaders dedicated to supporting residents and vulnerable populations in neighborhoods throughout Hillsborough County.
