Activities are designed to appeal to all ages. 🎨 ARTIST BIO Kandy Lopez is an Afro-Caribbean American visual artist and educator whose work explores themes of identity, representation, and community. Growing up without mentors who looked like her, she was driven to become the example she didn’t see—both through her art and in the classroom. Her creative practice and teaching philosophy are rooted in visibility, empowerment, and providing platforms for future artists of color to thrive. 🧵 ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Led by Kandy Lopez, this workshop invites participants to explore imagery and materials in an open-ended, expressive way. Using plastic canvas and thread, attendees will engage in a creative process that values experimentation over perfection. Figurative work is welcome but not required—this session encourages self-discovery through tactile making. With more than 15 years of teaching experience, Kandy offers guidance while giving space for personal expression and artistic freedom.
