Join Black LGBTQ+ Liberation Inc. (BLINC) for the opening reception of the Thou Art Woman Exhibition: RE/FRACTION – Beyond the Vanishing Point, held at the Pompano Beach Arts & Cultural Center. This year’s exhibition uses the visual language of perspective—and specifically the idea of the “vanishing point”—as a metaphor for the political forces attempting to push queer and trans lives out of view. RE/FRACTION brings together contemporary LGBTQ+ artists whose works confront these pressures while transforming them. As fractures appear in the systems designed to make us disappear, they also reveal openings. Within these breaks lies the possibility to bend, reassemble, and radically rewrite the narratives imposed on our communities. The featured artworks reflect this process of re/fraction: bending a single perspective into a spectrum of vibrant, multi-layered possibilities. Through painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, and installation, participating artists expose the fractures of the present moment, disrupt linear power structures, and imagine new forms of kinship, visibility, and liberation beyond the false horizon. The evening will be filled with compelling art, moving performances, delicious bites and drinks, and beautiful people! Come vibe with us, be among the first to experience this collection, connect with the artists, and celebrate the intersection of art, identity, and queer imagination.
