Tertulia Nights: Networks of Care in David Driskell's Legacy

A panel discussion on mentorship and networks of care in David Driskell’s artistic legacy

Join us for a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Shawn Christian, associate professor and Chair of FIU's English department, on the role of mentorship, education, and networks of care in David Driskell's artistic legacy. Featuring Dr. Jordana Moore Saggese, Director of the Driskell Center at the University of Maryland; Christopher M. Norwood, J.D., civic and cultural strategist and Founder of Hampton Art Lovers; and Charles Humes, Jr., a Miami-based painter, muralist, and educator. Museum galleries will be open from 5–9 P.M., with all exhibitions on view, including Sites of Assembly [https://frost.fiu.edu/whats-on/events/2026/06/sites-of-assembly.html], a newly opened exhibition exploring the spaces where public life unfolds.
