WISE Nature Walks: Lake Sumter Landing

WISE walks offer a two-hour interpretative exploration of diverse locations in Sumter County. Our primary focus is to enlighten participants about local wildlife, invasive species, scat, and tracks. Additionally, we delve into the local ethnobotanical practices and recount the history of native plants at each site. We will meet at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Sumter Landing at the covered area with tables next to WVLG Radio. We will stroll along the boardwalk talking about the different birds, plants, and Lake Sumter itself. We will then make our way to the walking trail and return back to Lake Sumer Landing.
