Explore the profound connections between generational trauma, familial habits, and cultural legacies in Lineage, an Artist Innovation Grant Awarded Exhibition by Kelcie McQuaid. Lineage utilizes mixed media, kinetic sculpture, soundscapes and video installations to examine how family histories and inherited behaviors shape our identities. Exhibition Highlights * “Placenta” Bio-Art Petri Dishes Over 500 bio-art pieces featuring household substances that evoke childhood memories, cultivated to grow living organisms. These Petri dishes symbolize the invisible forces of memory. * “Thicker Than Water” Portrait Drawings Large-scale evolving portraits of the artist, their mother, and father, reflecting the dynamic nature of family relationships. * “Chemical Reaction” Soundscapes Immerse yourself in sixteen circular fiber and mixed media paintings inspired by soundscapes created by musicians.
