Bug-Off: BioBlitz - Moth Edition

An Animal Crossing-inspired night BioBlitz to document moth species at Urfer Family Park

Join us for an exciting, Animal Crossing-inspired "Bug-Off" BioBlitz at Urfer Family Park! Whether you're an avid fan of the game or just love nature, this event is perfect for all bug enthusiasts. Just like in Animal Crossing, participants will explore the park to discover and document as many different moth species as possible within a set time frame. Armed with hand lenses, field guides, and other provided tools, you'll work individually or in teams to catch, identify, and record a variety of moths through the iNaturalist app. This event is catch and release only. Our knowledgeable Extension and PRNR staff will be on hand to assist with identification and provide fascinating facts about your finds. At the end of the event, participants will be awarded with a certificate, and top contributors may even receive an additional prize! Please wear wear close-toed shoes and weather-appropriate gear for the event. Sunscreen, bug spray, and a water bottle are also recommended. Make sure to download the iNaturalist app and create an account in advance.
