A free training for community members to learn strategies for responding to and supporting domestic violence survivors

Join the Domestic Abuse Council of Volusia County for an impactful Community Partner Training designed to strengthen our collective response to domestic violence and support survivors throughout our community. This free training will bring together community members, professionals, advocates, educators, service providers, faith leaders, and partners who want to better understand domestic violence dynamics and learn practical strategies to create safer communities. Participants will hear from expert guest speakers and engage in discussions on: • Understanding Domestic Violence • Lethality & Risk Assessments • Trauma-Informed Practices • Bystander Intervention This training is an opportunity to deepen knowledge, build community connections, and gain tools to recognize risk, respond effectively, and support survivors with compassion and accountability. 📍 Stetson University (Lees Garage) 131 E Minnesota Ave, DeLand, FL 32723 📅 Thursday, June 18, 2026 🕙 Training: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM 🕤 Check-In & Registration: 9:30 AM This is a FREE event, but registration is required.
