Guided Birding Adventure at Tall Cypress Natural Area Join Bruce and Nick for a morning of birding beneath the canopy of towering cypress trees at Tall Cypress Natural Area, a hidden gem in Broward County. ABOUT TALL CYPRESS Tall Cypress is a 66-acre protected natural area in Coral Springs, one of the last remaining tracts of cypress forest in Broward County. The park is a sanctuary of swamp and hardwood hammock, offering a continuous tree canopy, lush understory, and abundant wildlife. Its one-mile boardwalk trail winds through shaded wetlands, giving visitors a chance to see wading birds, woodpeckers, warblers, and seasonal migrants in a serene and quiet setting. This natural oasis is managed by Broward County Parks and Recreation and provides valuable habitat for native species in an otherwise urbanized area. It is an ideal spot for both birding and nature photography. ABOUT THE EVENT Bruce and Nick will guide participants along the boardwalk, helping identify resident and migratory birds, sharing field tips, and pointing out unique features of the cypress swamp ecosystem. All ages and abilities are welcome. The pace will be relaxed with plenty of stops to observe birds and wildlife. Participants will also receive a shared eBird list by email after the trip. If you would like to accept the list, be sure to have an eBird account with your user ID and password. You can edit the list by adding or removing species observed.
