Sugar Sand Festival Cleanup

Join the community for a beach cleanup during the Sugar Sand Festival at Clearwater Beach

Keep Pinellas Beautiful is excited to kick off the 2026 Great American Cleanup (GAC), taking place from March 1st through June 30th across Pinellas County. The Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup® is the nation’s largest community improvement initiative, uniting thousands of communities in service each year. From individuals and families to students, civic groups, businesses, and government partners, our volunteers share a common goal: protecting and enhancing the environmental health of the place we call home. Please help us exceed last year’s accomplishments by joining Keep Pinellas Beautiful, the Sugar Sand Festival, and The City of Clearwater for this year's Great American Cleanup at Pier 60! This event is free and open to all, so gather your friends and join us! Volunteers under the age of 18 need to be signed in by a parent or guardian. Volunteers under the age of 15 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event. Please note: expect EXTREMELY long traffic delays/very limited parking due to the Sugar Sand Festival. Carpooling and alternative transportation methods are highly recommended. Look for the Keep Pinellas Beautiful signs and tent on the beach! TIME: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM WHAT TO WEAR: Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes, sun protection and weather appropriate clothing. WHAT TO EXPECT: Cleanup supplies will be provided. A water refill station will be available, please bring a refillable water bottle. PARKING: Street Parking can be found both north and south of the roundabout. There are two public parking garages located near the venue on Coronado (Hyatt Regency) and one public parking garage located on the North beach in the Pelican Walk Plaza.
