The Secret Lives of Florida's Native Plants (and the Insects Who Love Them)

An interactive program exploring the beauty of Florida’s native plants and their insect partners

Join us as we celebrate 25 Years of the Florida Master Naturalist Program with this special educational event. Mark Kateli, Advanced Florida Master Naturalist, past-president of the Florida Native Plant Society, and current president of the Cuplet Fern Chapter FNPS, will be the presenter. This game-based and interactive program is dedicated to the beauty and importance of Florida’s native plants. Whether you are a seasoned naturalist or just beginning your journey into Florida’s unique ecosystems, this program is meant for you. We’ll dive into the vital roles native plants play in our environment—with a special nod here-and-there to the insects that rely on them—and share in the "conscience of mankind" that Dr. Archie Carr so famously championed. Come for an engaging afternoon, meet fellow nature enthusiasts from across the region, and maybe even take home a native plant prize! Let’s celebrate 25 years of conservation, education, and community together. See you there! When: Sunday, April 26th Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM Where: The CAPE Center, 105 Polk Ave, Cape Canaveral, FL Cost: Free
