Public Health in Practice: One Health in Our Community

A symposium exploring the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health through expert speakers and collaborative strategies

Healthy People, Healthy Animals, Healthy Communities—In recognition of National Public Health Week, the Hays County Health Department invite you to the 2026 Public Health Symposium focused on the One Health Model in Public Health Practice, in partnership with Texas State University. This event will bring together public health professionals, academic partners, students, and community organizations to explore the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. Through expert speakers, student research posters, and cross sector collaboration, participants will engage in prevention focused strategies that support chronic disease prevention, emergency preparedness, health literacy, and access to care across Hays County.
