Dune Restoration at Treasure Island

Join Keep Pinellas Beautiful in partnership with City of Treasure Island and Treasure Island Adopt-A-Beach on Friday, May 29th for a dune restoration project on Treasure Island Beach! Volunteers will assist with planting native sea oats to protect dunes, reduce erosion, restore critical habitat, and strengthen the shoreline against future storms. All ages are welcome! Please note: Volunteers under the age of 18 need to be signed in by a parent or guardian. Volunteers under the age of 15 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event. Please see map below for parking and planting location. TIME: Event begins at 10:00 AM. Please allow time for parking and sign-in. WHAT TO WEAR: Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes such as boots or sneakers, sun protection, and weather appropriate clothing. WHAT TO EXPECT: Supplies will be provided. A water refill station will be available. Please bring a refillable water bottle. Planting area is about a 0.4 mile walk from the parking lot. No restrooms available onsite. PARKING: Available at St. Petersburg Municipal Beach at Treasure Island.
