REGISTRATION OPENS 6/24 @ 10AM Our state-threatened prickly pear cactus (Opuntia stricta), a beautiful Florida native species, is being overtaken by the invasive Zoysia grass. Volunteers are needed to help remove the grass by hand — the only effective way to protect these rare cacti and restore their habitat. Gloves, tools, water, and snacks will be provided. **Please bring water, appropriate clothing (hat, hiking shoes/boots, long-sleeved shirts and pants for bugs) and bug spray. We will meet in the parking lot. The address is 150 Hypoluxo Rd, Lantana, FL 33462. Restrooms are not available at this site. No pets and children must be accompanied by an adult.
