Eyes on Seagrass Blitz Paddle

Participate in a guided paddle to learn about and monitor the seagrass of the Indian River Lagoon

Join Florida Sea Grant Extension Agent with UF/IFAS Extension Volusia County Carolyn Kovacs and Explore Volusia Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann for a paddle with a purpose! During the Eyes on Seagrass paddle we will learn about the seagrass in the Indian River Lagoon and report the seagrass we see as part of the Eyes on Seagrass Blitz. Eyes on Seagrass is a participatory science program that monitors the health and status of Florida’s seagrass population. The Eyes on Seagrass Blitz takes place in the month of May to collect data on the presence of seagrass in the Indian River Lagoon. These data allow us to better understand the current range of seagrass in the Indian River Lagoon and help inform future monitoring and restoration work. Visit the Eyes on Seagrass Blitz in the Indian River Lagoon [https://www.flseagrant.org/citizenscience/eyes-on-seagrass/eyes-on-seagrass-blitz-in-the-indian-river-lagoon/]website to learn more about the program.
