Hackensack Riverkeeper's CITY OF WATER DAY Eco-Cruise

A family-friendly eco-cruise through the Meadowlands with wildlife viewing and water quality education

CITY OF WATER DAY IS A REGION-WIDE DAY OF FREE, FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENTS ON OR NEAR THE WATER! Now in its 19th year, City of Water Day — taking place this year on Saturday, July 25 — is a region-wide day organized by Waterfront Alliance [http://waterfrontalliance.org/] and New York–New Jersey Harbor & Estuary Program (HEP) [https://www.hudsonriver.org/estuary-program], to champion a climate-resilient New York and New Jersey harbor. Dozens of communities across all five boroughs, Westchester and Rockland counties, and New Jersey will host events on and near the water that celebrate the importance of a resilient and equitably shared waterfront. From free kayaking to rowing to hands-on workshops, these events offer community members opportunities for fun, education, and access to their local waterfront. Come join us for a Hackensack Riverkeeper Eco-Cruise! Come explore the REAL Meadowlands with your friends at Hackensack Riverkeeper. On this 1 hour mini-cruise aboard the 30-foot “Robert H. Boyle II" – , Captain Hugh Carola will introduce you to water quality monitoring using a YSI sonde device, where you will learn how water samples are collected for testing. We will cruise to Mill Creek Marsh where you will observe wildlife, explore the wetlands. A unique, informative, and FUN time on the water! ** All trips will depart from River Barge Park, 260 Outwater Lane, in Carlstadt, NJ.
