State Representative Jolanda β€œJo” Jones is inviting volunteers to march with her and House District 147 in the 2026 Official Houston Pride Parade on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The Houston Pride Parade is one of the city’s biggest, loudest, most colorful celebrations of community. We are looking for volunteers who are ready to walk, wave, laugh, smile, and show up with pride. This is a chance to stand with our LGBTQ+ community, celebrate Houston, and help represent District 147 with love, joy, and unity. 🌈 Who: Volunteers marching with State Representative Jolanda β€œJo” Jones and House District 147 What: Volunteer opportunity for the 2026 Official Houston Pride Parade When: Saturday, August 15, 2026 Parade Start Time: 7:30 PM Estimated Parade End Time: Approximately 10:00 PM Volunteer Arrival Window: 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM Volunteers should arrive between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Please give yourself plenty of time to park downtown, walk to the meetup area, and find our parade group. Volunteer Meetup Location: Sam Houston Park 1000 Bagby Street Houston, TX 77002 Please find legal parking downtown first, then walk to Sam Houston Park at 1000 Bagby Street. How to Find Our Group: Our parade assignment is: Entry #39 Blue Zone State Representative Jolanda β€œJo” Jones House District 147 The parade begins near the downtown area and continues toward Allen Parkway. Parade participants will line up in the staging area before the parade begins. Once you arrive near Sam Houston Park, walk toward the parade staging area and look for Entry #39 in the Blue Zone. If you do not see us right away, keep walking along the staging area until you find the Jolanda β€œJo” Jones team. What to Wear: Colorful clothes encouraged πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ Comfortable shoes strongly recommended Pride colors, flags, beads, and festive accessories are welcome Please dress for walking, heat, and crowds What to Bring: Water Comfortable walking shoes Portable fan or cooling towel if needed Pride accessories or decorations you can safely carry Good energy, patience, and a big smile Important Volunteer Notes: All ages are welcome Bring water Wear comfortable shoes Be cheerful, be prideful, and be ready to walk No alcohol in the staging area No glitter or stickers Do not bring weapons or unsafe items Please help keep the group together during staging and throughout the parade Frequently Asked Questions Do I need to RSVP? Yes. Please RSVP so we know how many volunteers to expect. Is RSVP free? Yes. RSVP is free. Can all ages volunteer? Yes. All ages are welcome. Families are welcome. What time should volunteers arrive? Volunteers should arrive between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Where should volunteers meet? Volunteers should meet at Sam Houston Park, 1000 Bagby Street, Houston, TX 77002. Where will the parade group be staged? After arriving at Sam Houston Park, walk toward the parade staging area and look for Entry #39. If you do not see us immediately, keep walking along the staging area until you find us. Should I bring water? Yes. Please bring water. It will be hot, crowded, and active. What should I wear? Wear colorful clothes, Pride colors, and comfortable shoes. Come ready to walk, wave, laugh, and celebrate. Can I bring Pride accessories? Yes. Flags, beads, signs, and fun accessories are welcome as long as they are safe, respectful, and easy to carry.
