The Portraiture Photography Workshop, An Artistic Approach

A hands-on portrait photography workshop focused on planning, lighting, posing, and post-editing

Let's take it a step further... What photographers will learn in this workshop is how to plan a series of looks to create their own book, calendar, or wall art project. We will create a storyboard, work with the models to see the options in wardrobe and props to create your vision. Then we will set up the lighting to create the mood for your vision. This workshop is good for all levels of shooters who are looking to expand their portfolio. And learn more about shoot planning and execution, working with talent within this theme. This will be a 2:1 workshop, in which participants will work on one model at a time. But the participants will work with all the models. Some of the ideas the instructor will demonstrate are the use of paint, leather, and/or black tape on your model with other fashionable items to help create a unique statement based on agreed themes with the model to help set your portraiture apart from your peers. Come take a deeper dive into lighting (modifiers & ratios), planning, posing, and post-editing techniques to complete your photography print project. What to bring: 1. Camera, DSLR and or Mirrorless (must have a hot shoe to work with our Pocket Wizards.) 2. A lens range from 24 mm to 200 mm is great. But specifically, a 50mm and an 85mm prime lens are recommended. 3. Grey card/Color Target for White Balance 4. Exposure meter for the best lighting ratio and understanding of light falloff. 5. Props you may want the model to use for your vision. (But we do have a lot.) Your Workshop Model Lineup: See below Want to get some ideas going?
