African American Research Library & Cultural Center 2025 Kwanzaa is hosted by Yes Baby I Like It Raw We're gathering in the spirit of Kujichagulia, to define, speak for, and create ourselves. The celebration is an opportunity to honor our heritage while building forward together. This year's theme “Africa Rising: Celebrating Heritage, Building Futures,” invites us to reflect on the past, be rooted in the present, and imagine what the future holds. From cultural expression to economics, wellness, and healing, we’re honoring the full spectrum of who we are as a global African community. Activities throughout the day include: Yoga and African dance to begin the day in unity Movement & Mindfulness Workshops and Dialogues (topics include): * Kwanzaa 101 * Investing in today’s Africa * Community and reparations * Food as medicine (cooking demo) * Mental health and healing beyond survival Youth & Family Zone: * Storytelling, creative arts, coding, gardening, and more Kwanzaa Marketplace: * Shop from Black-owned vendors, artisans, and food trucks Nguzo Saba Awards Ceremony Honoring seven local leaders who embody Kwanzaa’s founding principles (We invite you to nominate community leaders).
