Food Lovers Crawl: the cultures of Brighton Beach

A food crawl through Brighton Beach featuring Ukrainian, Russian, Georgian, and Uzbek cuisines

Brighton Beach is heavily associated with Ukrainian & Russian culture (in fact, it's known as "Little Odessa") and that's because from the 1970s through the collapse of the Soviet Union, it became the hub for Soviet jewish immigrants from what is now Ukraine and Russia. However, the area is also home to a number of other post-Soviet cultures like Georgian, Uzbek, etc and together, they make for an absolutely delicious food landscape. Join me for a food crawl through Brighton Beach highlighting these cuisines, from the salty, smoky fish of Ukraine to the peppery, juicy khinkali of Georgia and the unctious, barberry-studded plov of Uzbekistan. I can promise you it will be a delicious ride. Will reach out to participants with a specific meeting location once sales are closed. (food is included in the ticket price, duh!)
